POLICY MAKER’S PRIOTIZE HEALTH SECTOR DURING BUDGETARY ALLOCATION FOR BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY

Under the Integrated Response to Conducive Health Environment (RICHE) project supported by Australian Government, NEMACY–Uganda advocates for better service delivery at all levels. Engagement meetings with policy makers from different levels and community members are organized so as to create a plat for discussion of issues affecting the community and which need urgent attention and as well make recommendations on how best to handle the most pressing issues at all levels. For instance, the recent engagement meetings held with policy makers at different levels in Jinja District at Buwenge Rural Sub-county headquarters, discussions were on how best to handle the health sector in order to improve service delivery at health centres and in hospitals. Policy makers at all levels found that inadequate budgetary allocation is among the major causes of poor health service delivery and agreed to increase the sector budget in the next financial year 2020-2021.
